VINELink Became Texas IVSS in 2025
Texas replaced its county VINE service with IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. Existing registrations migrated, and users were prompted to update passwords when first signing in. Directions that send a current Texas user to VINELink or require the old telephone-registration PIN are now stale.

The change affects both terminology and procedure: current IVSS uses account credentials, saved contact methods, preferences, and notification history rather than treating a four-digit VINE PIN as the main setup step.
What IVSS Covers for Anderson County
IVSS-Counties can provide participating-county notices for booking, release, a court-event setting or change, death, escape, and transfer to TDCJ. Alerts may arrive in English or Spanish by text, telephone, or email. Account settings can include preferred hours, blackout dates, contact information, pauses, and notification history.
Not every Texas county necessarily participates. The research found no static authoritative list proving Anderson County integration, so select Anderson County in the live portal before relying on it. If the county does not appear, a page is temporarily unavailable, or setup fails, call the Texas OAG's 24-hour English and Spanish support line at 866-268-8959. The service is free.
Check a Specific Anderson Inmate
A public search does not require an IVSS account, but alert registration does. Begin with enough identifiers to avoid attaching notifications to the wrong person. A common name alone is weak; compare the county, available identifiers, and custody details.

What the Texas Notification Record Shows
The portal is designed around present custody and saved notifications rather than a permanent public profile. Fields and controls documented in the current service include the following.

A visible search result is not guaranteed after release. The system warns that a person no longer in custody may not appear, although a saved registration can remain active and resume notices if the person returns to custody.
Register for an Anderson Release Alert
After confirming the match, create or access the IVSS account. Registration documents email, county, login and password information, and notification choices. Enter and verify contact methods as the live interface directs, choose email, text, telephone, or TTY, set after-hours preferences, and save. Then review notification history and keep account details current.
- Associate the alert with the verified person's record.
- Select one or more delivery channels and verify each contact method.
- Set available time, blackout-date, or pause preferences.
- Save the registration and confirm it appears in the account.
- Read the full event wording when a notice arrives.
- Contact the holding agency for documentary confirmation.
During the research process, the registration page displayed temporary unavailability. If that condition persists, contact the operator rather than falling back to superseded VINE PIN instructions. A four-digit PIN was used to acknowledge former automated VINE calls through August 31, 2025; current users should follow only controls shown by IVSS or directions given by its operator.
Why Old Texas VINELink Instructions Fail
The migration created a sharp local accuracy issue. Search pages and handouts that still say “VINELink Anderson County” may point to the former platform, tell users to choose a PIN, or omit account migration. Current users should reset credentials and preferences in IVSS when prompted, then verify that Anderson County is available in the live county selection.
Migrated registrations do not turn old alerts into certified records. Save notification history where useful, but obtain the ACSO booking-out sheet or court document for the exact local event. This distinction also avoids treating a technical login problem as evidence about anyone's custody.
Read Release and Transfer Alerts Differently
An IVSS notice must be read by its recorded event. “Release” indicates the source reported a release event; “transfer to TDCJ” means county custody ended while state custody began. Escape and death are also custody changes, but neither should be described as an ordinary community release. Court-event notices concern settings or changes and do not, by themselves, establish physical departure from jail.
For a TDCJ transfer, search the official state inmate locator. It contains only currently incarcerated TDCJ people, updates on working days, and is at least 24 hours old. After favorable parole action or for later notification, use TDCJ's separate IVSS and its Victim Services channels. TDCJ Victim Services lists 800-848-4284 and victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov for its own notification program.
Confirm an Anderson County Release
A missing IVSS result does not prove release, provide a date, or explain the disposition. It may reflect release from searchable custody, a name mismatch, identifier differences, lack of county participation, temporary integration trouble, or another system condition. A saved alert can remain active even when no public result appears.
For Anderson County Jail, call ACSO at 903-729-6068 and ask whether the specific booking closed. Request the booking-out record with release date and time, release authority or type, and transfer destination. Use the official court portal and clerk copies to connect bond, dismissal, judgment, or commitment entries to that event. An alert is timely notice; the jail and court documents are the durable historical chain.
When IVSS Is the Wrong Locator
County IVSS does not replace federal or immigration tools. BOP's locator covers federal prisoners and can show a past Release Date with Location listed as RELEASED. A future date is prospective, UNKNOWN means the term is undetermined, and IN TRANSIT is not release. For a person moved from ACSO to the U.S. Marshals Service, the federal docket and later BOP record may be necessary.
ICE's Online Detainee Locator covers current ICE custody and people released from ICE custody within the preceding 60 days. It accepts a nine-digit A-number with country of birth or exact detention-record name and biographical data, and it excludes people under 18. If ACSO records ICE as the destination, the Anderson booking ended by transfer until ICE itself records a later release.
Do Not Confuse Alerts with Registries
The Texas DPS Public Sex Offender Registry is limited to people with a continuing Chapter 62 registration duty. It may show identifying information, a current photograph, offense, conviction date, punishment, and an indication of discharge or supervision. Its absence says nothing conclusive about arrest, jail custody, or release for the general population.
Likewise, no verified Anderson County sheriff app supplies local release notifications, and no official 24-hour or 72-hour feed exists. Avoid substituting the unrelated Anderson County, Tennessee sheriff app. Choose the system according to the custodian and event: IVSS for notices, ACSO for the county booking-out record, TDCJ for state custody, and the court for legal disposition.
