Powledge Projected Release Records
TDCJ's Projected Release Date is calculated by CID Classification and Records. It estimates when the prisoner will leave incarceration if parole does not occur sooner. It is not an actual release event. The calculation can change with offense data, sentence structure, calendar time, good-time treatment, disciplinary action, Board decisions, programs, special conditions, or sentence corrections.
Good-conduct time is a privilege rather than a right under Texas law and does not reduce the sentence itself. It affects parole or mandatory-supervision eligibility when applicable. Texas has no universal 85-percent rule. Any formula must account for the offense, offense date, statutory eligibility, actual time, good-time treatment, and Board action.
After a favorable vote, TDCJ checks the release plan and legal prerequisites. Classification and Records then audits the file and may calculate a separate Scheduled Release Date and Scheduled Release Location. A scheduled date can change, including on that day. Only later confirmation establishes that the person actually left Powledge.
Powledge Parole Decision Routing

A person released to Anderson County is routed through the Athens District Parole Office at 1645 Enterprise Street, Athens, TX 75751, 903-675-6722. Probation from an Anderson County court instead belongs to Anderson County CSCD. A Board vote, field-supervision record, and probation judgment answer three different questions.
Favorable parole action does not mean immediate departure from Powledge. TDCJ reviews the release plan, county-of-residence issues, programs, disciplinary matters, and conditions. Use the Parole Division release-status line after favorable action. Report the Board's actual decision code rather than paraphrasing it as “released.”
Powledge in Anderson's Prison Complex
Powledge is one of five TDCJ facilities clustered in Anderson County with Beto, Coffield, Gurney, and Michael. Official materials describe shared operations across about 20,528 acres. The size of this state-prison footprint contrasts with the county sheriff's lack of a public release archive. Readers can easily search the wrong system.
The TDCJ unit directory is the map for this state complex. Gurney is a transfer facility, so a move from Powledge to Gurney can mean continued TDCJ processing. Beto, Coffield, and Michael are also state units. None of those movements belongs in the Anderson County jail's release record unless the person had an earlier county booking and transfer.
Keep two record chains when both systems are involved. ACSO establishes the local booking-out time and transfer to TDCJ. TDCJ establishes state admission, unit movement, prospective dates, parole or mandatory-supervision action, and discharge. The shared county name does not combine them.
Powledge Release Notification Checks

After Release From Powledge
A person leaving Powledge on parole or mandatory supervision receives state instructions and remains under TDCJ supervision. Anderson County field routing points to Athens DPO. A full discharge ends the state sentence and should be confirmed in the historical record. An outside transfer requires the receiving agency's record before any later release can be established.
The TDCJ reentry guide lists purpose-neutral Anderson County contacts for identification documents, food resources, mental-health care, and substance-use support. Examples include a Palestine DPS identification office, a local Social Security office, Palestine Community Food Pantry, and ACCESS services in Jacksonville. Because directories age, call first and verify hours.
Service contacts do not verify custody or alter supervision terms. Keep the release certificate, discharge document, identification papers, and office instructions together. Ask the assigned parole office about any unclear reporting term.
Prove a Powledge Release
Build the proof in order. Preserve the conviction judgment and identifiers. Save the last current TDCJ result with its access date. Obtain the Board action where relevant. Request the release certificate, historical incarceration information, or discharge record. Add the field-supervision record if the sentence continues outside prison.
A no-result cannot fill any missing step. It may reflect release, a spelling issue, a system lag, expunction, or another change. Likewise, a projected date cannot prove what later happened. When an outside authority appears, follow that named custodian until an actual release record is found.
